Boy Scouts of America Troop 914

BOY SCOUT TROOP 914  I  Dallas, TX

Boy Scout of America Troop 914 is Chartered at St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas.

About St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church

God is doing marvelous things at St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church. We are a cross-shaped church; that is, a church that reaches up to God and out into the “community.”  As a cross-shaped church, we believe that knowing and loving God leads to a profound transformation in one’s relationships.

About Boy Scouts of America Troop 914

Boy Scouts of America Troop 914 was established in 1996 with six Scouts under the Pastoral leadership of Dr. Zan W. Holmes, Jr. and the Men of St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church.

Today, under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Dr. Micheal L. Bowie, Jr., the troop has created over 60 Eagle Scouts in over decade.

“When we started this troop in 1996, we had 6 scouts, two tents, and one piece of outdoor cooking equipment.  In 2003, we created our two first Eagle Scouts.   In 2014, Troop 914 had over 60 Eagle Scouts and 10 Eagle Scouts Palms."

                      - Keith Kennedy, Charter Representative

Of the millions of youth that join scouting, only about 4 out of 100 Scouts of all Scouts become Eagle Scouts.  Only one in ten of Eagle Scouts ever earn an Eagle Palm.

Mission of Boy Scouts of America
